Curriculum Vitae
Dr.
Cassity believes that to be the best dentist; study and education must
be at the forefront of patient care. To that end he has studied and taken
classes from educators and institutes across the country, including the
world famous Pankey Institute of Key Biscayne Florida.
Dr.
Cassity is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and has achieved
Fellowship within that organization. Achieving that award required 500
hours of continuing education and passing a test over several areas of
general dentistry. He is soon to complete his mastership award, which
required additional 600 hours of continuing education of which 400 hours
are participation and professional presentation. Dr. Cassity has recorded
hours in the following areas of dentistry
- General dentistry
over 180 hours
- Esthetics (cosmetic
dentistry) over 100 hours
- Crowns and Bridges
over 100 hours
- Periodontics (gum
diseases) over 100 hours
- Endodontics (root
canals) over 100 hours
- Implants over
100 hours
- Occlusion (bite
problems, TMJ, ect) over 100 hours
- Removable Prosthetics
(dentures, partials) over 100 hours
Dr.
Cassity is also a member of the American Dental Association, Kentucky
Dental Association, and Purchase Area Dental Society. He has served as
President of the Purchase Dental Society. During that time as president
he worked with the Purchase Dental Society and Kentucky Dental Association
to encourage mouth protectors in sports such as basketball, baseball,
and softball to prevent and reduce injuries in children and adolescent
athletics.
Dr. Cassity is a graduate
of Murray State University in 1979 with a degree in Biology and chemistry
minor; he received the Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (D.M.D.) from the
University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1983. He has served for
several years on the advisory board of West Kentucky Tech for dental assistant
education. He is currently the dentist advisor for the dental hygiene and
dental assistant education program in Paducah, KY.
